I agree it was a contraption, put together in three minutes before having to 
leave for work, to play with an idea, and I would not insist in having these 
things work under r6rs.

By the way, the draft never seems to define "plausible list" when initial 
and final times are not specified, yet uses it everywhere without specifying 
these times.  Am I missing something?
