That is done because lines beginning "From " (the colon is irrelevant)
serve as intermessage delimiters in classic Unix mbox (aka Eudora,
aka Netscape, aka Thunderbird) format. Mutilating the "F" in some
way eliminates the risk of splitting one message into two.
