Cool.   Well, sure.  It is also not an argument for doing X.

We are probably expecting the CHAR/STRING standards to be
useful for much more than they rightfully should be useful for.

The alternative is looking for the Y and Z to have instead of X,
so to speak.   That's what SRFI and R7 should be for, I think.
