Thanks. It might be more clear to use the phrase "any procedure defined 
in section 9.8 of this report or chapter 11 of the report on the 
standard library" or something similarly specific.

While we are here, can you confirm that the difference between the 
requirements on the results produced by number->string and put-datum 
(both must be equal? invariant with their corresponding input procedures 
but number->string must use the smallest number of digits that satisfy 
this requirement) is intentional?
