Having sorted through the messages once and subsequently having closed
all my browser tabs, I would suggest that a good heuristic is to sort
the list by date and scan each thread in february up until it
disintegrates into either sniping or case-sensitivity :)

Seriously.

The earlier messages clarified a lot. Wading through the technical
merits of C-S has served to illustrate the character and attitudes of
various players, but it's much harder to extract information from that
stream. The gripping hand is that many of the nominees have abstained
from getting involved in the C-S argument, so it's relevance may be
debatable to the question at hand.
