This is all beating the air, because in general no known algorithm is
smart enough to reliably decide when this kind of argument parallelism
is a win and when the program will just thrash with thread-creation and
destruction overhead.  Experiments in AND and OR parallelism in Prolog-like
languages established that pretty conclusively.
